The science of eternity.

AEONION started with a simple frustration: there is extraordinary science being published every day, but following it closely is difficult. Important discoveries are scattered across papers, journals, press releases, conferences, and social media—and by the time they reach a broader audience, the context is often missing.

My experience as a PhD candidate at the University of Chicago shapes how I think about that problem. Research teaches you to look closely at evidence, question assumptions, and become comfortable with uncertainty. An exciting result can be genuinely important while still leaving major questions unanswered. I want AEONION to bring that way of thinking to science communication.

I’m particularly interested in healthy aging—how our biology changes over time, why disease risk increases, and whether we can extend the years we spend in good health. But my curiosity extends well beyond aging, into genetics, immunology, cancer, the microbiome, neuroscience, biotechnology, and the technologies that could reshape medicine.

Some of the work happening in these fields is remarkable. But understanding it shouldn’t require spending hours dissecting a paper or already having a scientific background. At the same time, accessibility shouldn’t come at the cost of accuracy. A result in mice is not automatically a treatment for humans. A biomarker moving in the right direction does not necessarily mean someone will live longer. An early clinical trial can be exciting without being conclusive.

That balance is what I want AEONION to get right.

The goal is to make important science easier to discover and understand while preserving the uncertainty that is part of science itself. When we cover a study, I want the reader to come away knowing: What did the researchers actually find? How might it work? Why could it matter? And what do we still not know?

News will focus on discoveries, research, and developments worth following. Notes will be different. This is where I’ll write more personally—about ideas I’m thinking through, questions I find interesting, things I’m learning, and occasionally the process of building AEONION itself.

I’m keeping AEONION brand-first for now rather than making the publication about me. What matters more is that the reasoning, sources, uncertainties, and editorial standards behind the work are visible.

My hope is simple: to build something worth returning to. A place that makes science easier to follow, sparks curiosity, and earns trust over time.
